Serve a side dish to this herby roast chicken, sweet baked potato slices, thanksgiving turkey, or perfect leg of lamb roast with gravy.

Why you should air fry frozen yorkshire pudding

It takes about 5 minutes to cook Yorkshire pudding from frozen in the air fryer depending on the size. It is convenient and saves time rather than making it from scratch. Don’t get me wrong, homemade is the best but you can also get some delicious ones in the supermarket that are made with really good ingredients. That aside, if you are in the UK, you will agree with me that it is not really worth it lighting up the oven for Yorkshire pudding in this economy. So air fryer all the way as it is energy efficient. You can cook a large batch at once which you can’t do if making it from scratch. The max you can make from scratch is about 3-5 depending on the size and style of your air fryer. Not only does it make a great side to your Sunday roast, you skip it and have it for dessert instead with some flavored syrup and ice cream.  You can cook Yorkshire pudding or popover (if you are reading from the US) in any brand of air fryer, however, the cooking time would vary due to the different brands and wattages used. Any brand of frozen Yorkshire pudding works, I used Aldi’s (giant pudding) brand but you can use any shop brand available to you. Popular brands in the UK includes aunt Bessie’s (very popular), Lidl, Asda, Morrisons, Iceland, and Tesco.

Ingredients needed

Exciting news! This dish only needs one premade ingredient. No extra oil is required and there is no need to season as most come pre-seasoned. Frozen Yorkshire pudding: plain or one with beef drippings (this is the traditional one and a better choice)

How to cook frozen Yorkshire pudding in the air fryer

Preheat the air fryer to 190C/380F for 3 mins. I like to do this as I believe it gives the frozen food a good head start as it would if oven-baked. Transfer the frozen Yorkshire pudding into the air fryer basket, you can stagger stack them if need be. Cook at 190C/380F for 5 to 6  minutes depending on the size until golden and crispy on the outside. Flip the pudding halfway through for a good measure. Remove the pudding from the air fryer, serve and enjoy with other classic Sunday roasts accompaniments.

What to serve with Yorkshire pudding

There are so many things you can serve with your air fryer Yorkshire pudding. Below are some of my favorites: Gravy: this is a must for me, it just wouldn’t be the same without it. I like to make mine from scratch using roasted beef, lamb, turkey, or chicken drippings. That said, my no-dripping gravy recipe is another great option if you have no dripping to use. Mashed potato: Boursin mashed potato, Creamy garlic mashed potato, Kale mashed potato, or Instant pot no-drain mashed potatoes. Roast potatoes: air fryer roast potatoes, air fryer baby potatoes, crispy roast potatoes, Hasselback potatoes, and many more. Roasted or sauteed Vegetables: sauteed broccolini, buttered leeks, sauteed cabbage, roasted broccoli, and cauliflower. Roasted proteins: this goes great with roasted chicken, Dutch roasted chicken, slow-roasted lamb shoulder, leg of lamb roast, baked pork steak, air fryer steak, and many more

Do I need to defrost it before cooking

No, there is no need to defrost it as it can’t be cooked directly from frozen in just a few minutes.

Can I make this ahead

No, this is best served fresh and since it only takes about 5 minutes to make, I would suggest making it when you are ready to serve.
